Vanard Capital city of the Cabal
The Vanatine are an extension of the army who are responsible for the defense and policing of Vanard and its environs. They have the same ranking structure as the army. Indeed the majority of the Vanatine are veterans of the army who no longer wish to campaign. This produces a body of men who are at least the equivalent in ability as a Korr in the main army. There is a lot of pride in the martial prowesss of the Vanatine. In excercises and competitions they often beat Korrs of the main army. The Vanatine is one Korr in strength and though not included in the man count for the army, is nevertheless under the command of The Surran. The Vanatine Korr is also different in that it has a whole Elkorr supporting it for all the administrative functions of a city militia.- Badge

Those on patrol wear soft leather armour of very high quality, occasionaly augmented by metal plates, and a buckler. (This is to provide mobility in the instance of a chase) Those guardsmen on patrol are the equivalent of light skirmishers for the army. In the instance of a bar brawl they would do what they could until an An or more of heavily armoured guards arrived.

If the guardsman was in the army previously then he can look forward to all that the army provides. Otherwise there is nothing.
- Priviledges
In times of civil unrest additional equipment is issued
All guards would then be in full Caban armour. This equipment is rarely used at present as the Militia have a good relationship with the citizenry.
They tend to be many and varied and unofficial. This is tolerated as long as it dosen't interfere with the job. (It would be true to say that corruption is on a very limited scale) However the main priviledge is that the Vanatine have access to the latest and best equipment.
